Cold email tools
SEMAOS vs Smartlead
TL;DR. These solve different jobs. Smartlead is cold-email-at-scale infrastructure — unlimited mailboxes, automatic rotation, and a large warmup network — built to send high volumes of cold email across many inboxes and domains, popular with agencies. SEMAOS sends fewer, more personal 1:1 emails from your own Gmail/Outlook mailbox, and also runs newsletters/broadcasts, with a 0–100 engagement score per contact. If your play is high-volume cold outreach, Smartlead fits; if it's personal outreach from a small team's real inboxes, SEMAOS does.

When is Smartlead the better choice?
Smartlead is the better choice for agencies and teams sending high-volume cold email across many inboxes.
- Your motion is high-volume cold email across many inboxes and domains, and you need unlimited-mailbox rotation plus a warmup network to sustain it. That's Smartlead's whole design; SEMAOS sends from a rep's own real mailboxes, up to three per person.
- You're an agency running outbound for many clients and need white-label workspaces and multi-client management.
- You want deliverability infrastructure (dedicated IP rotation, ESP matching, pre-send placement testing) as the product's center of gravity.
When is SEMAOS the better choice?
SEMAOS is the better choice for a small team writing its own outreach from its own mailboxes.
- You send from your own mailbox, 1:1. Personal outreach from your real Gmail/Outlook that lands in Primary — not volume sprayed across throwaway inboxes.
- You also run newsletters/broadcasts. Smartlead is cold-sequences-only; SEMAOS does both from one product.
- You want engagement intelligence, not just sending. A 0–100 score and tiers per contact, plus real analytics — Smartlead's reporting is execution-focused.
- You're a small team, not an agency. Flat pricing with seats included and no add-on stacking, built for 1–50 people doing their own outreach.
How many emails a day can SEMAOS send?
One rep on a paid SEMAOS plan can send up to 3,000 emails a day from their own mailboxes: 250 to 1,000 per connected Gmail or Outlook mailbox depending on the kind of account, with up to 3 mailboxes per person. Broadcasts and large enrollments go over platform sending instead, which a new custom domain ramps up over at least 21 days.
| Sending from | Limit | Counts against your plan? |
|---|---|---|
| One connected mailbox | 250 to 1,000 a day | No |
| One rep, 3 mailboxes | Up to 3,000 a day | No |
| New custom domain, week 1 | 100 a day | Yes, the monthly platform pool |
| New custom domain, week 2 | 500 a day | Yes, the monthly platform pool |
| New custom domain, week 3 | 2,000 a day | Yes, the monthly platform pool |
| Warmed-up domain | The plan's pool: 7,500 (Solo) to 200,000 (Business) a month, then the on-demand bank on paid plans | Yes |
Each warmup step also waits until the domain has sent enough to earn the next one, so a domain that sends little stays on a lower step. SEMAOS sets each mailbox's cap by the kind of account: 250 for a personal Outlook account, 400 for a personal Gmail account, and 1,000 for a Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account. A provider can still refuse sooner, for example on a new account. SEMAOS is not built to rotate dozens of throwaway inboxes. The ceiling is set by your team's real mailboxes and one warmed-up domain (5 on Business).
